How do we wish ? this question is somewhat complicated, since our wishes might change depending on many factors. Our wishes usually change depending on the culture and the age of the person making that wish. The wish starts from something we see, hear, read about, experience, feel, or imagine in our minds (human sensing). The wish starts from human sensing of the previously mentioned routs.
Human Sensing abilities will change through time going into what we can call Wish Phases; starting from a little kid, teenager, adult, to a wise old person. Those stages will have their own wishes that will vanish or change from one stage to another.
Wish Phase One: This phase is usually when we are little kids up to the age of thirteen years old. As little kids we usually have little cognitive abilities to analyze or think about what we wish for. Most wishes during this period are simple wishes.
here's an example: a kid saw his friend's new bike and was very impressed by the cool bike that he started to wish he or she had one.
This simple wish is created from seeing something and wanting to have it, without knowing any reasons why not to have it, since his friend does. At this stage the little kid does not know or have the tools to make his wish come true, he just wants the bike
Wish Phase Two: This phase is usually when we're teenagers from 13 to 18 years old. From my prespective I think this phase is the most dangerous phase of all. Why ? because we as humans in that age range have countless wishes that we want to become true fast and we think that we know how to make them come true, but we actually don't.
An example: a teenager might see a friend with a lot of money, a cool car, and a lot of hot girl friends and wish he could have all that. Making this wish true in a short period of time is through money, then a car, then hot girl friends. The teenager will seek to have a lot of money first. If there's no proper parenting present this might lead the teenager to selling drugs easily, or in best cases doing homework for his friends for money.
Wish Phase Three: We reach this phase when we become adults were we start to have more reasonable ways of accomplishing our wishes. Wishes sometimes change to goals, since we have a developed brain that can reason its way to reaching that specific goal.
An Example: An Adult at this phase may wish to have a good job, a house, and a nice car. As an adult we would draw a little flowchart in our brain to accomplish this goal or wish. We can start by maxing our SATs, then getting into a good university, and after all graduating and having the nice job we dreamed of to lead to a car and a house at the end.
Wish Phase Four: This phase starts from age 40 and above, sometimes a lot earlier depending on the person's mental abilities and experience in life. At this stage a person may wish to have strong family ties, like having a simple happy life with their family around them from children to grand children.
This phase of life is tough because it depends on what you have built in the past phases of your life to accomplish your goals. Most people will be shocked to see that all their goals that they set during their earlier ages were worthless and that the most important things in life are really worth nothing too.
We might wish to go back in time to live one wonderful happy moment that have past in time and will never come back.
At this stage all physical, mental, and social abilities are starting to go away slowly. A wise person will think of all that life has to offer in material things and know that the houses, cars, friends, wife, children can all go away at anytime and conclude that we as humans cant do anything to bring them back. Its the time where we know that its not worth it to steal, lie, abuse, cheat, kill, hit….etc
Conclusion: At the end we know that living the simplest life with a good attitude towards others might be the heaven on earth and is what everyone should be wishing for. We can live a life were we do what we can to learn, work, and socialize, then let life guide us through without being annoyed by its mishaps. There's nothing in life worth a single moment of sadness. We should always be happy and smiling to everyone even if they chose not to. At a certain point they'll know that you lived a good life no matter what they did or said, after all they will pay for all the moments they wasted their lives being unhappy.
